ChatGPT

Made by OpenAI

ChatGPT is OpenAI’s AI assistant, and in the US it can now link to your money and health information so its answers fit your own life.

I started with Claude, then added OpenAI’s models, and then moved into Grok Bot.

What it is

ChatGPT is an app you chat with on the web, on your phone and on your computer. OpenAI says it puts chat, work and code in one place.

For home use, you can choose to connect parts of your life to it, and disconnect them later.

What it’s very good at

These are OpenAI’s own claims, plus one news report:

  • Money questions. Finances is open to US users on the Free, Go, Plus and Pro plans, on the web, iPhone and Android. You link bank accounts through Plaid and your credit report through Experian, then ask where your money goes. It can read but can’t act: OpenAI says it can’t move money, pay bills or make trades.
  • Health questions. Health is open to US users aged 18 or older on the Free, Go, Plus and Pro plans, on the web and iPhone, and is still rolling out. Health records connect through supported provider patient portals, Apple Health connects through the iPhone app only. OpenAI says this data isn’t used to train its main models or to target ads. It’s meant to help you understand your info, not to diagnose or treat.
  • Music. An Apple Music app inside ChatGPT can help you find music and build playlists, MacRumors reported. Saving to your library needs an Apple Music subscription, and it can’t read your listening history.
  • An agent that stays with you. A dot is OpenAI’s always-on agent. It has its own cloud computer, works in the apps you connect and can keep going between chats. Dots come with the Pro plan (not in the European Economic Area, UK or Switzerland) and with Business Premium; Enterprise workspaces can turn on a beta, and dots are still rolling out.

How I use it

In my experience, ChatGPT is where I reach for my personal life: checking on money through Finances, asking about my health with Apple Health connected, and making music playlists. OpenAI says a dot works in the apps you connect, so check which of your connections it can use.

That’s my habit, not a rule. Claude and Grok Bot can help at home too.

Keep it safe: share only what a task needs, never paste account numbers or passwords into the chat, and check money or health answers with a qualified person.
